***NEW*** - Downloadable GPS Files

For each ride from September 2013 onwards you will see links to 2 downloadable  GPS files, one in GPX format and one in KML format

1.  To use the GPX files click the link and then when prompted save the file to your computer with a name of your choice and upload the file to your GPS, These types of file will work with Garmin and most other GPS systems. Note:- these files will not open properly in Google Earth, use the KML files instead.

2. To use the KML files click the link and if you have Google Earth installed on your computer click open and Google Earth will open showing the route on the map, where you can also use street view for a virtual tour of the ride. Or alternatively you can save the file and open it later.

If you don't have Google Earth why not try it its free to install just google it, and see where you've been or where you could have been!

December 2013 - Sunday Rides

Starting at Casa Blas to Gypsy hill along the cañada taking the left split for the road to Barrio Jarana over the rail and motorway bridge taking the track/road for and around Puerto Real to the university then onto la marisma tracks to Puerto de Santa Maria for coffee.
Returning back the same way on tracks but without the muddy off road and back to H.Q. (Venta Angelin) for refreshments

Sun 22nd Dec
Riding from Venta Campano to Chiclana Park cycling paths,tracks and trails within the park were 10km in distance. On leaving the park coffee was taken at Alda Coto (new Venta) and making our way back to Venta Angelin via the Marismas

Sun 15th Dec
Starting from Casa Blas riding along the Cañada from Pago to Los Naveros with a Levante blowing making it very hard cycling. Coffee stop at Venta Los Navaros Leaving the loop out because of the wind, we came back along the Cañada from Los Naveros to the motorway at the Conil end.
Finishing along the N340 and back to Pago to Venta Angelin Wind behind all the way back from Los Naveros

Meeting at Venta Angelin, ride up gypsy hill onto the cañada taking the left split for the exit at the top end of Marquesado, peddling past the football ground onto the bridge over the motorway and railway line following the track into San Fernando, for coffee at Venta Glorieta.
Continuing through the town and connecting with the new tram service road and a whizz along to the end with some speedy local spanish cyclists through Chiclana picking up the cycle track and back to Pago for refreshments.

November 2013 - Sunday Rides

Start from Casa Blas on track to Medina Sidonia road then continue on the road to the roundabout at the bottom of Medina Sidonia go onto the OLD A381 connecting with the CA2012 Puerto Real to Paterna road, the coffee stop will be on the at Venta El Pedroso in the Paterna road area. After coffee Turn towards Puerto Real on road taking a track on the left afrer approx 5km, the track that will end at the top end of Marquesado were road at the sharp bend near the milirtary installation. Then take the road back to \pago de Humo via wet lane road to drinks sto at Venta la Peńa

Start from Venta El Rayo  just near where the motorway finishes at Vejer proceed to Liberos, Najara and them by track to Venta El Negro at Malcoocinado for coffee.Continue on road to Benelup, down the steep hill passing the football ground on the left.At the bottom of the hill turn left onto the track and continue on back to the road near the coffee stop at Malcocinado. Leave by road and track to Cantarranas re-tracing the route back to Venta El Rayo

Start from Venta Pinarillo ride along the road towards to Chiclana, then take the right hairpin turn down Wet Lane, at the roundabout go straight across and up Gypsy Hill. Follow the road to the Marquesado Road and turn right and then through Marquesado and left through the woods and the football ground to the Motorway Junction at Barrio Jaranna. Along the track by the side of the Railway to Puerto Real and then through the Marismas for coffee at the beach at El Puerto de Santa Maria. Return by the same route.

Meet at Casa Blas, ride along the road to Los Naveros across to the A393 Vejer road for a coffee stop at Venta La Cabrala. Then take the CA2021 back to Los Naveros passing the Aerodrome on the way, in the village pick up the cañada all the way back to Pago and Venta La Peña

Start at Venta Pinarillo  along the road to El Colorado, skirting Conil to El Palmar for coffee at Venta El Pájaro Verde back across the track  to the N340  to the base of Vejer, then loop around up the hill to La Muela then back along the N340 to Venta Campano.

Sun 20th Oct The route took us from Venta Angelin - Casa Luisa down wet lane and up gypsy hill, we took a right turn at the top of the hill and followed the carrils and cańadas down to the Marquesado road where there was a split on road or off road, the on road took us past Puerto Real hospital,the off road followed the senderos to the coffee stop Venta Caminero that is situated on the Paterna, Puerto Real road. The return route varied from road and off road to return to Venta Angelin - Casa Luisa

Sun 13th Oct Meet at Venta Cabrala on Medina/Vejer road, Route back along the road to Medina Sidonia turn right at Vente Duchessa and then right again, follow the road to the A381 motorway junction, then take the service road  and off road track to Sanctuario de Los Santos for a coffee stop. After coffee head along the road to Los Alcornocales in the parque natural and then take a left turn to cross the  dam on the  Embalse de Barbate reservoir. From there we picked up the off road senderos for at least 15km that took us back to the Venta Cabrala via a river crossing which presented some challenges  65km GPX -file

Meet at Venta Angelin (Louisa) Pago del Humo at 10.00am. Route along the cañada to the waste disposal, turn left onto a track to the Medina Sidonia road, after 3km take a right  turn onto the El Berrueco road take the first left under the road bridge into the quarry, follow the track parallel  with the Medina road coffee stop at the venta before the hill into the Village.The way back via Los Naveros and back to Pago along the cañada from Los Naveros .

Sun 29th Sep Start from Venta Pinarillo in Pago de Humo and take the road to the Medina road at the hairpin just after the motorway bridge, straight down to the roundabout and then up Gypsy hill and on to the Marquesado road. Turn right and follow the road through Marquesado to the woods and cut through past the foorball stadium to Barro Jarana. Cross the motoway and take the track at the side of the railway to Puerto de Santa Maria going through the woods near the university. Down through the town to the sea front for a coffee. Return along the promenade and then and over the footbridge in the country park back to the same track by the railway and then follow the outward journey back to Venta Pinarillo for refreshments. 62km GPX - file

Sun 22ndSep A really tough ride today, winds of 35kph to 40kph all day. Start from Venta Liebre CA5302 10km from Alcala Gazules then along "undulating country" to San Jose. 1st stop of the day for coffee. Then onwards and upwards to meet the Arcos road where we made a sharp left turn onto the A393 and into a strong cross wind. Finally reached Paterna and stopped at a venta for a refreshing cool drink and free tapas to prepare for the last 9km straight into the wind. After quite a struggle and even having to pedal down hill we arrived at Venta Liebre ready again for a well earned cool drink 44km GPX - file

Sun 15th Sep Start at Casa Blas, then along the Calle Pago del Humo past the Motorway Junction and onto the CA2022 and CA2111 to Los Naveros. After a coffee stop back along tracks to meet the CA2145, then along the CA2101 to meet the Calle Pago del Humo and back for a drink at Venta Angelin Quite a hilly ride. 42km GPX - file

Sun 8th Sep Start at Venta Angelin and through town to La Barrossa Beach for coffee. Along the promenade and the coast road all the way to Roche. then back on road and track to Chiclana Park and then through the park and on to Stumpy Lane back to Venta Angelin 33km GPX - file

 July 2013 - Sunday Rides

Sun 28th Jul All road through Marquesado and Barrio Jarana past Puerto Real hospital for coffee at the Venta on the Puerto Real to Paterna road - Venta Caminero. Split rides for the way back on road retracing the ride out Off road all the tracks around the back of Barrio Jarana and Marquesado down to gypsy hill. 51km
Sun 21st Jul Meeting at Venta Angelin a split ride road and cañada to Los Naveros for coffee, returning off-road to the N340 passing through the industrial estate picking the back roads back to La Venta in Pago 42km
Sun 14th Jul Riding from Venta Duquesa to the service road for the A381 onto a track sign posted for San Jose del Valle turning onto the CA5032 towards the back of Alcala de los Gazules before the climb to A.G following a dry river bed under the A381 and onto the road for the Santuario de Santos no coffee at the Venta not ready to serve us. Taking the cañada behind the Venta on tracks, riverbeds and fields coming out at the back of the bull farm and back again onto the service road and the return to the Venta Duquesa. 51km
Sun 7th Jul Riding up to Venta la Raya then cross country to the golf club rotunda and turning towards El Colorado moving through the woods and lanes to the outskirts of Conil. A virgin stop for coffee at the Fuete camp site On the way back skirting Conil between N340 and the coast road, back into El Colorado taking the CA 3206 to Venta La Raya for refreshments (very windy) 41km

 June 2013 - Sunday Rides

Sun 30th Jun Starting at Casa Blas 9 00am Forward down stumpy lane to and through the woods of Chiclana Park making our way to Roche on the coast road, taking a turning towards El Colerado following along tracks and road taking us through Roche woods to the coffee stop at Venta Pena Cadista el Chori The way back into El Colorado we cycled along the N340 to the San Andres golf club over the bridge using the back road and track back to Venta Angelin. 37km
Sun 23rd Jun First start of the year at 9:00 - Start at Venta Angelin Pago del Humo The took us along the Cañada to the municipal tip picking up the track to the main road to Medina Sedonia after 1km we took the turning to the right taking us to the El Buerreco off road section under the main road and through the quarry following the tracks towards Barrio Jarana, at the end of the off road section we turned left towards Marquesado where we took a well earned coffee stop at Venta Parada and then returned to Venta Angelin via wet Lane a total distance of 36km the ride was mostly off road that made it seem a lot further. A good final ride for Richard as he is away until the end of August. 36km
Sun 16th Jun This ride was changed on the day because of the riders who turned up would not have had the confidence to do some of the tracks. Last weeks ride was an old re-run one from Pago to Ramirez to Conil port for coffee, picking up a new loop on the way, on the return bikers guided themselves through the woods back to El Colorado, Barrio Nuevo and back to the start. 45km
Sun 9th Jun A mystery tour marked by spray paint and flour. Starting at Venta Cazardores at 10:00, Stumpy lane under the blue bridge parallel to the motorway crossing onto the N340 along past San andreas golf, after the roundabout taking the track over the motorway bridge for a second time again parallel to the m/w over the m/w bridge yet again. Skirting El Colorado before crossing the N340 and threading through the maze of roads to the coffee stop at Venta Chiclanero Following on road and tracks to the coast road and back to Pago via road and woods. 41km

Sun 12th May Meeting at Venta Gaza, Marquesado, just up from Eroski.Ride to Barrio Jarana and along the promenade at Puerto Real. Ride round the Cadiz University Marismas between Puerto Real and El Puerto de Santa Maria. Return journey along the Cadiz FC track, into Marquesdao and Venta Gaza. 48km
Sun 5th May Meeting at Venta Raya, km 6 Pago. Ride in Los Naveros, onto the bottom of Medina Sidonia. Coffee at ventarilo de carbon. Back along the Chiclana road, before turning left along the track to the model aircraft club, then along the cañada to Pago and back along the CA3206 to Venta Raya. 55km
